Hot Milk Cake

This recipe is from The Port Wallis Cook Book - Published in 1947 by Choir of St. Andrew's Anglican Church.

These recipes have been tested successfully by the Homemakers of Port Wallis. In June of 1946, the ladies of Port Wallis entered a baking contest sponsored by the choir of St. Andrew's Anglican Church. The entries were judged by a competent dietitian and the winners' recipes are found within the pages of this book.


2 eggs

1 cup sugar

1 cup flour

butter the size of a large nut

vanilla

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 cup milk

pinch salt


Beat eggs well, add sugar a little at a time. Sift flour, baking powder and salt twice. Put butter in with milk and heat until the butter is melted. Add flour mixture to eggs and sugar, then add milk and butter and flavouring. Beat well, bake in moderate oven.
